Volunteer for us

Giving your time is a wonderfully rewarding way to make a difference.

Come to one of our Buddy Bag Brigades and help pack the Buddy Bags and meet others who, just like you, are making a big difference.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and a variety of backgrounds and so every one has different skills, experiences and networks who may be able to help us.

Whether your donation is time, money or skills, every single contribution of any kind is appreciated by the foundation.

Make a difference

Knowing you are making a difference is a wonderful feeling of ‘giving back’.

There are lots of different ways you can volunteer and give as much or as little time as you can spare, every volunteer helps.

Do you have a skill you would like to donate? We need people with lots of different skills to help us. Are you a speaker, a knitter, a good organiser, a networker? If you have a skill to put to good use please contact us.

If you can help in any way, big or small, we would love to hear from you.

“I remember some 70 years ago (almost), as newly orphaned boy of eleven being delivered to a Children’s Home, I was not allowed to take any of my clothes or possessions with me, I had nothing of my own, so I have some idea how today’s children, uprooted from the home, with nothing, must feel. I think Buddy Bags are brilliant. How I would have treasured one. It is an absolute pleasure for my wife and I to be involved in the sourcing and filling of our Rotary Club’s first tranche of 120 bags. We now look forward to filling Buddy Bags as an annual event.”

Ways to volunteer

The Buddy Bag Foundation could not operate without our talent of volunteers. Every person who contributes, however big or small, really does make a difference.

We are always looking for volunteers to join us from all walks of life, with difference skills and experience. From attending a Buddy Bag pack, to donating skills, services or join our fabulous team of knitters, there’s a role for everyone, however much or little time you are able to give.

Volunteers Making a Difference

"We have both in the past had experience of dealing with the consequences of domestic abuse on children and of trying to help. Also now as grandparents very involved with our own families we are only too aware of the pressures that face children these days. Buddy Bags offers an instant help to children whose lives have suddenly been ripped apart."

"It was my honour and privilege to support this needy cause, and I was truly pleased in helping pack on that occasion over in Eccleshall.”

"Personally I have really enjoyed getting involved with this project, shopping for good deals on the clothes has not been a chore and putting the ‘packs’ together has been very enjoyable, allowing me to get to know some new people. I have been sewing some more wash bags today, after getting some more material last week. The shop I brought the material from asked what I was doing with it and once I had told them the manager gave me 25% off.”
