Wesleyan have taken time out to help support a Staffordshire charity with a bag pack of essential items for children who find themselves in emergency accommodation due to complex family situations.
The Buddy Bag Foundation provides bags of essential and comfort items for children in emergency shelter such as toothbrushes, PJ’s, pants and vests, reading books and a cuddly teddy bear.
The team at Wesleyan chose to support the charity with a £1,000 donation towards much needed items for the bags whilst hosting a ‘team pack’ at the 700,000 sq. ft. fulfillment centre.
Wesleyan’s Project Manager, Graham Wiggins, commented:
“The day spent packing Buddy Bags was both hugely rewarding and humbling and really brought home the reality of modern life. A great cause and great Wesleyan team effort”
Wesleyan’s Employee Engagement Team, Kelly Collumb, commented:
“I thoroughly enjoyed supporting the Buddy Bag Foundation to pack special bags for children who have been taken into emergency care – especially this time of year in the run up to Christmas. The Buddy Bag Foundation is a fantastic charity who are so dedicated to showing love and care for children, with each bag containing precious gifts which the children will adore and cherish.”
Karen Williams from the Buddy Bag Foundation added:
“We would like to issue a heartfelt thanks to everyone at Wesleyan for rolling their sleeves up and getting involved in the bag pack. I started the Buddy Bags Foundation to help the rising number of children entering emergency care after fleeing violent situations at home. These bags are designed to provide extra love and support they need towards a happy and successful future.”
