At See Media, we believe that purposeful work extends beyond the office – and that making a difference in our community is just as important as delivering great communications. That’s why we’ve chosen the Buddy Bag Foundation as our Charity of the Year, supporting its mission through fundraising, awareness and hands-on help.
As part of our latest quarterly team get-together at Cubo in Birmingham, we swapped laptops for backpacks and dedicated time to something truly meaningful: a Buddy Bag pack. These special bags are filled with essential and comforting items for children fleeing unsafe situations such as domestic violence, often with nothing but the clothes they’re wearing.
Together, our team packed bags full of care – each one consisting of a special drawstring bag containing toiletries, a selection of stationery, pyjamas, a book and a beautiful hand-knitted teddy bear. These bears, crafted by Buddy Bag’s generous volunteers, are gently hugged before being tucked into the top of the bag so that they’re the first thing a child sees when they open it.
While we had some fun trying to organise our Buddy Bag production line (think our skills still lie in PR but we got a good system going in the end!) watching the videos about how and why we were doing the bag pack, and seeing the bags come together, was a moving experience that brought home the impact of this charity and the children it supports.
Our Junior Account Manager, Harriet Bolton, even found a bear that looked just like her – well, almost, she just needed some yellow accessories! Saying goodbye to that bear wasn’t easy, but she gave it an extra cuddle before sending it on its way to someone who, we’re sure, will treasure it even more.

Taking time out from the everyday to contribute to such a powerful cause gave our team space to reflect, connect, and give back. We’re proud to be supporting the Buddy Bag Foundation throughout the year with more events and fundraising activities, and we’re already looking forward to doing another larger bag pack event.
To the team at Buddy Bag: thank you for the incredible work you do. And to the children and their families receiving these bags – we hope they bring comfort, support and a little spark of joy in difficult times.
