At the heart of The Buddy Bag Foundation is the belief that every child deserves to be loved and to feel safe. As part of a group of volunteers from Corporate Connections, I took part in a bag pack to pack 180 bags for children and families who have had to enter into emergency care after fleeing violent situations at home.
What is Inside a Buddy Bag?
The contents of a Buddy Bag are carefully chosen to meet the needs of children entering emergency care and/or accommodation. From toiletry essentials, to pyjamas, to a Buddy Bag bear, each item is thoughtfully chosen to provide comfort during this scary time. By providing children with a few essential items, their transition into emergency care is made a little bit easier, thanks to The Buddy Bag Foundation.
A Community Coming Together
We had a community of individuals come together to help pack 180 Buddy Bags. Volunteers are vital and play a crucial part in making the Buddy Bags a reality. 100% of all donations go directly to the children, so volunteers who can give up their time really make a difference. The whole process of packing a Buddy Bag is so rewarding and provides a wonderful opportunity to give back and all contributions of any kind are appreciated by The Buddy Bag Foundation!
