Carousel is delighted to continue its support for the Buddy Bag Foundation; an inspiring charity that supplies essential items to children who arrive in emergency accommodation.
Having begun working with Buddy Bags back in April 2016 Carousel is so pleased to see the charity continue to go from strength to strength. On a monthly basis, Carousel’s Birmingham hub distributes approximately 30 boxes of the Buddy Bags, to locations up and down the UK – from Carmarthen in South Wales to Teesside in the North East.
Sadly, over 48,000 UK children are taken into emergency care every year, and this number is rising all the time. However The Buddy Bag Foundation, together with an army of volunteers and supporting businesses, helps to make this process a little more bearable by giving out the bags, which contain everything a child needs for their comfort and wellbeing. By providing each child with a Buddy Bag, the charity can help to restore a sense of safety and security.
The bags contains things such as toiletries, pyjamas, socks and underwear. They also include comfort items such as a book, a photo frame and a teddy bear. A Buddy Bag is something a child can call their own, no matter where they go. The Buddy Bags are tailored to suit babies and children according to age groups and gender and cater specifically for children aged 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 and 13-16 years old.
