Free Education for Women and Children Fleeing Domestic Abuse

Centre of Excellence

Thanks to a collaboration with Centre of Excellence and The Buddy Bag Foundation, thousands of women and their children escaping domestic abuse across the country will be able to benefit from free education.

Leading education platform Centre of Excellence has teamed up with Buddy Bag to provide women with a free mindfulness course and their children access to over 20 special kids courses.

The backpacks, filled with things like toiletries, pyjamas, socks, and underwear, will now include a small envelope, providing access to the courses.

Worth £147, the adult course explains what mindfulness is, how it enables people to adopt a new mindset, and how to self-manage anxiety and stress.

It also teaches people how to tackle thoughts of suffering, grief, and feeling overwhelmed, delves into meditation, and includes practical exercises, guidelines, and tips that can be used to help bring mindfulness into daily life.

Mindfulness enables people to adopt a new mindset, and how to self-manage anxiety and stress.

Meanwhile, the kids courses cover topics like English, maths, science, wellbeing, and many more.

Both the adult and kids courses are accessible on phones, tablets, and computers, and can be printed out at refuge centres.

Anybody who completes a course will also be able to print a special certificate to proudly display.

Centre of Excellence CEO Sara Jones said: “We’ve worked with Buddy Bag for several years now and are always amazed by the incredible charity work they achieve.

We hope these courses will help survivors, and their children, during a very difficult part of their lives.”

CEO and Founder of Buddy Bag, Karen Williams OBE, said: “At Buddy Bag Foundation, we are delighted to be working with Centre of Excellence to make a difference to the ladies in women’s refuge.

Together, we can make a real difference”.

Centre of Excellence is world-renowned for offering thousands of high-quality, accredited courses to millions of students around the world.

Buddy Bag was founded in 2015 to help make a difference to children entering emergency care.
The foundation is run by a team of volunteers and ambassadors so that 100% of the money raised goes to the cause.
