After more than a fortnight keeping quiet we can now reveal the huge honour of Karen Williams reaching the final of Lorraine Kelly’s Woman of the Year competition.
How exciting is that?
Karen is one of just three brilliantly inspirational finalists chosen by judges for the annual competition run by the breakfast TV favourite.
The judges were:
- Lorraine Kelly
- Julie Etchingham ITV news anchor
- Lauren Steadman – Paralympian silver medallist and current Strictly contestant
- Victoria Milligan, who survived a speedboat tragedy that sadly killed her husband and young daughter and in which she suffered life-changing injuries and had to have her leg amputated
We know that Karen will say this is all in recognition of a team effort.
To help us reach even more children in emergency care, please vote for Karen by calling 033012 362 02
Voting opens at around 9.30 on Thursday, October 11.
Did you know there are some 48,000 children fleeing domestic violence in the UK each year?
Often these children escape with just the clothes they are wearing as they go along with an opportunity to get out, or they are taken from school.
That’s where the Buddy Bag Foundation comes in.
We’ve now packed more than 15,000 bags with love. We know we’re only just scratching the surface and we are committed to doing much, much more. By 2020, we aim to have delivered 20,200 Buddy Bags – can you help us smash this target?
How else you can help the Buddy Bag Foundation? You can:
